The Turkish Beverage Board still has to acquire it’s taste for Kombucha, but I thought it was ok compared to others like it.  I’m still a rookie on the kombucha scene, but it seems like one of these new-wave kombucha’s that have more of a flavor than a real taste.

I was decent though.  I kept taking little nips at it throughout the night.

I was really excited for this tea, but was disappointed to find a bland, filmy texture in my mouth after taking the initial swig.  It hits you with a refreshing wave, but then the after taste settles in and kills it, quickly un-quenching your thirst.  You need a chaser or a tooth-brushing after drinking this.  With all the delicious teas out there, this gets a zero replay value and DebatableBevi categorization.

BUT if you already have one popped and don’t know what to do, mix it with Smirnoff Vodka and the filmy texture goes away, leaving a very tasty and mild alcoholic bevi.  Splashes to vodka, particularly Smirnoff in our case, for the bevi relief.

This was a very intriguing and mysterious bevi.  It’s one of those drinks you have to walk circles around and give a few sniffs before you settle in.  The color is kind of brown-ish and it is really thick and difficult to mix quickly.  It smells like cinnamon and has a very unique texture, like the Turkish Salep Drink (not yet reviewed on bombevi).

The taste is dessert-like, and almost filling.  The texture is like there is a thin membrane that keeps the drink together.  If you spilled it on the floor it would probably roll around like mercury.  I liked it, but I think it’s a versatile bevi that may need more practice mastering until it becomes a true Bombevi.

I say get one, take some sips, put it back in the fridge, put some on vanilla ice cream, put it back in the fridge for later.  Its a now-and-then drinker.
